Michigan!

We just had a wonderful trip to Frankfort, Michigan with the Smith family. It was a sweet week with TIME together. Slow mornings (although early thanks to Michael), resting until the day's activity was decided, naps all around, and then heading to the beach or for a kayak trip or walking on Sleeping Bear Dunes. Mimi and Doc and Uncle Paul were saints with the first year of the Invasion of the Babies with taking walks (Doc), singing songs (Mimi), and generally making as many sniffing and grunting noises as possible to entertain the little ones (Uncle Paul).

Here are some pictures from the week!

Our one consistent nightly activity: appetizers and drinks on the porch! Here is Doc holding Rebecca.

We took a few fun walks all together - this one was to Lake Michigan where we walked up and down the sandy shores.

All Michael wanted to do all week was WALK, WALK and WALK! We had to take turns so that we could space out who was bending their backs for long periods of time. Here is a sweet picture of Kevin and Michael.

Mimi and Doc also enjoyed walking with Michael! I took a fun video that I'll post soon - for now, here is a picture!

Our new Smith family tradition is to eat dinner overlooking Lake Michigan at Arcadia Bluffs golf course - the view is AMAZING (although I didn't take a picture), but here we are enjoying the best meal of the week and great conversations.

Kevin had to head back to Annapolis a little early for work, so he and I were able to slip away for a few minutes to my favorite bench in Frankfort, overlooking Crystal Lake.

  1. Too fun. As always, Michael's handsome face and eager smile take the cake in every photo. And though I know it's back-breaking work for the adults, it sure is fun to see Michael up on his feet! Welcome Home!
