Michael turns 16 months today - and he is such a little bundle of energy. My grandmother Annie likes to refer to Michael as "Moving Michael," and that term is so accurate! I want to remember little things he does - like how he has learned the word "hot" and reaches out to touch "Mommy's coffee" or his oatmeal with his hand, just to make sure I'm telling the truth. Or how he gets so excited and energized that he clenches his fists in the air and makes this face...
... and usually he ends up running into the couch or a piece of furniture out of sheer energy.
I want to remember how the words he can say are: dog, ball, hot, foofs (for shoes). I want to remember how he imitates my hand gestures when he is looking for something - he turns both hands up and outward and shakes his head slightly from side to side while I say, "Where is (fill in the blank)."
I want to remember moments like this...
and this...
and this...
I am so grateful for my buddy.
